OUR TECHNOLOGY
We are equipped with the latest radiation oncology treatment technology including the Varian VitalBeam linear accelerator, 4D-CT, RapidArc, IMRT, IGRT, and HDR brachytherapy. Learn more about the technologies we offer below.
Varian VitalBeam
At the heart of our advanded technology is the Varian VitalBeam. This modern linear accelerator is able to deliver sophisticated treatments including RapidArc, SBRT and SRS.
4D-CT
4D-CT allows for moving tumors such as lung tumors to be accuratly targeted by taking into account respiratory motion.
External Beam Radiation Therapy (EBRT)
External beam radiation uses a sophisticated radiation machine called a linear accelerator to deliver focused beams of radiation. This is an effective treatment for many types of cancer, and can be used alone or in combination with surgery and/or chemotherapy.
Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) is an advanced radiation delivery technique which utilizes multiple radiation beams or arcs to deliver highly conformal radiation while reducing radiation dose to uninvolved areas to reduce side effects and/or complications.
Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)
Image Guided Radiaiton Therapy (IGRT) is the use of routine imaging, such as Cone-beam CT (CBCT) or portal imaging. This imaging is typically obtained prior to delivering radiation therapy to improve the the accuracy of the treatment.
Sterotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT)
Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) involves delivering between one to five doses of high dose radiation therapy with extreme accuracy. This is commonly used for Stage I lung cancer, as well as certain other cancers.
Sterotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)
Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) is used for certain tumors of the central nervous system, and involves the pinpoint delivery of high dose radiation therapy. This can involve from one to five total treatments.
Brachytherapy
Brachytherapy is the delivery of sealed radioactive sources directly inside or next to the area requiring treatment. We offer high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy for the treatment of certain prostate, cervical, endometrial, and skin cancers.
Image Fusion
Fusion of other advnced modalities such as PET/CT or MRI can allow for more accurate targeting of many tumors
